UNSA Vienna aims at raising awareness and promoting exchange on commonly overlooked yet important topics within the UN framework such as femicide and climate crisis and migration. Special focus lies on empowering and integrating the next generation.

As part of the UNSA Global Network, UNSA Vienna aims at setting new benchmarks with regard to the identification of as well as work on topics and ideas that are critical for the future of the UN system and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

UNSA Vienna aims at promoting the implementation of the SDGs by furthering the work on most commonly overlooked yet important topics and establishing innovative, integrative and solution-oriented approaches to those topics within the UN framework.

: Femicide Vol. XI: Cyber Crimes against Women and Girls

This volume again compiles strategies, best practices and innovative approaches, serves as a platform for, and provides practical support to anybody who wishes to prevent, investigate, prosecute, and punish VAW and gender-related killings of women and girls, i.e. femicide. The second section on cyber crimes includes an interview with Neil Walsh of UNODC, articles on online harassment of women journalists and cyber crimes against women in India, among others.

: Femicide Vol. X: Contemporary Forms of Enslavement of Women and Girls

This FEMICIDE Volume includes recent statements on femicide, as well as articles on contemporary forms of enslavement of women and girls, e.g. dealing with forced marriages, pleasure marriages, human trafficking, and child marriages.

: Femicide Vol. IX: Femicide, State Accountability and Punishment

This issue of FEMICIDE deals with state and international responsibility. We all have a national and international obligation to put an end to such atrocities, to prosecute offenders and to lift up the many victims’ shattered lives. Governments can and must provide “safe places” for at-risk women and children. Ultimately, there must be a viable plan for providing women with the possibility of economic self-sufficiency, which in turn can assure independence and the chance of a better future.

Klimawandel und Katastrophen wirken sich auf das Leben von Millionen von vertriebenen Menschen weltweit aus. Sie gefährden Menschen und stehen immer häufiger in Wechselwirkung mit den Ursachen von Fluchtbewegungen. / Climate change and disasters are affecting the lives of millions of people around the world. Climate change, environmental degradation and disasters exacerbate vulnerabilities and increasingly interact with drivers of displacement.

Am Sonntag, dem 11. Oktober 2020 wird in Wien gewählt. Dementsprechend haben wir von UNSA Anfragen an alle größeren Parteien und deren Jugendorganisationen geschickt und sie um ein Statement gebeten. Einige Parteien haben sich leider nicht gemeldet und die Möglichkeit, sich zu positionieren ungenutzt gelassen. Daraus könnte man schließen, dass Klimamigration leider immer noch ein Thema ist, dass nicht im Fokus der österreichischen Politik liegt oder auch bewusst ignoriert wird. Im Hinblick auf das brennende Lager Moria und Österreichs Desinteresse an der Aufnahme von Geflüchteten, ist die zweite Möglichkeit durchaus nicht unwahrscheinlich. Dennoch haben uns einige Parteien oder Parteiorganisationen Statements geschickt, die wir hiermit veröffentlichen, damit Du einen kleinen Einblick bekommst, wie österreichische Politiker*innen über Klimamigration denken.
